Prospect resident Frank Moss has been charged in a 15-count indictment alleging that he illegally purchased 11 guns on seven different occasions throughout Connecticut. He has pleaded not guilty to the charges in New Haven district court.
U.S. Attorney John Durham said the indictment alleges that between June 14 and Nov. 1 last year, Moss, “being an unlawful user of or addicted to controlled substances, made false statements in connection to the purchase of 11 firearms at gun stores in Wolcott, Seymour and Waterbury.”
Durham said the indictment charges Moss with eight counts of making a false statement during the purchase of a firearm for not disclosing his past drug use. Moss has also been charged with seven counts of possession of a firearm by an individual who is an unlawful user of, or addicted to, any controlled substance.
The indictment was returned to the court on Dec. 4. Moss, 31, remains released on a $50,000 bond and will face 10 years in prison on each count if he is convicted. No return court date has been announced.
